In Create, under What is it about?, choose where to start: Topic, Link, Text, File or Voice note.

The options

  • Link: paste a web page or PDF address and tap Import.

  • Text: paste notes, a transcript, an old post or an article (at least a sentence or two) and tap Use this text.

  • File: choose or drop a PDF, Word (.docx), HTML, Markdown or text file, up to 10 MB.

  • Voice note: tap Record a voice note and talk through your idea for up to 10 minutes, then tap Stop and transcribe. You can also upload a recording, up to 10 MB.

How to use it

Once imported, choose:

  • Rewrite it for this format: turns the source into the format you picked.

  • Use as reference: writes a new piece that draws on the source.

The topic box becomes Angle, which is optional: use it to say what the piece should focus on.

Good to know

  • Long sources are trimmed to fit. You see Trimmed to fit when this happens.

  • Importing a link, a PDF, Word or HTML file, or a voice note uses one writing request. Markdown and text files are free to import.
